Tara, this was the BEST!! I'd rate this higher than 5 if I could. I quickly 'threw' this together after a quick invite to some friends for dinner and I will be making it again for sure. It was wonderful. I had it made in no time flat (followed the recipe exactly) and got myself ready while it baked. The thought occurred to me while we were eating it that it could easily have been done in a square pan for that matter. Anyway, thanks for a great recipe. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Wow! Stupendous! Fabulous! Soooooo easy too. I never make pies because I am baking challenged. This was so easy to do and it turned out perfect. My whole family loves this! Will be making again and again! My pie only took about 30 minutes til it was done so you may want to start checking it earlier than the 45 it says on the recipe. Other than that this is a don't mess with recipe.

This was fabulous! I love apple pie, but never make it because I am pastry-impaired! Easy, delicious and the aroma....mmmmmmmm! I made it as directed, but added cinnamon to the apple mixture cause I just couldn't imagine apple anything without cinnamon! Topped it with a glob of whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Superb!

My daughter and I made this today for a Bible Study (we were supposed to bring a dessert). I made a couple substitutions -- we used freshly ground spelt flour instead of white flour, and we used Sucanat instead of white sugar (it's made from sugar cane, but it's coarse and dark brown and not nearly as processed as white sugar). I accidently omitted the vanilla, but I did put a pinch of Real Salt in the filling because I felt it was needed. This went together much quicker than I thought it would, although that might have been because I wasn't working alone. Everyone who tried it said they liked it very much. I will make this again. Thanks!

Welcome! I joined this website in 2001, as a new wife and Mom of a 1 y/o and I was 28 yrs old and did not know about cooking. I found this website cause I searched the web and wanted to find a good recipe for carrots! I found that recipe and so much more here over the years. I learned so much from this website and opened up my eyes to other recipes. I now am 46 y/o. I am now divorced and my then 1 y/o son is now a Marine. I have a wonderful man in my life that loves and appreciates my cooking and I thank this site for all of its help. I still come here for recipes. I hope you like my recipes and your family enjoys them also....there is many here and I love to pass them on.
